Stag Horn Fern
Stag Horn Fern (Platycerium Bifurcatum) : The fronds of these exotic ferns are shaped like the antlers of a stag and hence its name! Stag horn ferns are a collector's item and a proud possession in your garden.
Light : They thrive in indirect light and detest direct sunlight. Place in shaded or east facing balconies.
Soil : Best is to mount them in a mixture of coconut husk and sphagnum moss.
Watering : Dip these mounted beauties into a bucket of water twice a week in summers. Water everyday.
Humidity : Loves humidity in the air. Keep misting regularly.
Feeding : A general NPK feed once every month is needed to be luscious and green
Re-potting : Over time it fills the pot and the plant kind of covers the entire pot. It is best to be left undisturbed. But you may separate it carefully if you want to propagate them.
Propagation : Divide the plant and re-mount.
Speed of Growth : Moderate if tended well.
Tips : High humidity and diffused lighting is all he needs! Very easy to maintain if you mist him everyday.
